Interserve Retail & Interiors completes Flagship Project at Peter Jones, Sloane Square

9 Jul 2004

Interserve's specialist shopfitting arm, Retail & Interiors, has completed the shopfitting of The John Lewis Partnership flagship store Peter Jones, in London's Sloane Square.  The five year programme of refurbishment and extensions has been widely regarded as one of the most complex single retail refurbishments in Europe.

The project consisted of significant building and structural work to the store's existing fabric, new extensions to provide increased floor area and a comprehensive internal refurbishment.  Under the management of Bovis Lend Lease, the works were carried out in four phases with a budget in excess of £107 million.

Interserve was employed as a turnkey shopfitter across all seven floors, responsible for technical design development, joinery manufacture, on-site installation and on-going project management.  All design and production was undertaken by their in-house 35,000 sq ft joinery manufacturing facility in Bournemouth – one of the largest in the UK.

This prestigious project was delivered on time, within budget and to an extremely high level of finish.  The quality of the completed store speaks for itself.
