Interserve Wins £19m Malvern Hospital Contract

17 Jul 2008

Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, has been awarded a £19 million ProCure21 contract by Worcestershire Primary Care Trust to create a new hospital in Malvern.

The Malvern Community Hospital will be built at Seaford Court, Malvern, and will have 24 beds and a minor injuries unit. It is expected that construction work will begin in early 2009 with the hospital opening for patients in the autumn of 2010.

Paul Bates, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Primary Care Trust, said: "We are delighted that Interserve has been successful through what has been a rigorous selection process. We are confident that they understand our vision for delivering a state-of-the-art hospital for our patients and one in which our clinicians will be proud to work."

David Paterson, Managing Director of Interserve Project Services, said: "We welcome the opportunity to create a hospital which will act as the centrepiece for the local community. We'll be working closely with the Trust to realise its vision, using the experience we've gained from undertaking over 80 ProCure21 health schemes. Together we shall provide facilities which will make a real difference to families in the area."
