Main Office, Doha, Qatar for HSBC Bank
Located centrally on the Corniche with views over the city and the sea, the new HSBC office was completed in fourteen months. It comprises basement car parking, ground floor banking and customer services, bank offices on the first and second floors and three further floors of office accommodation. Basement excavations required a coffer dam and de-watering due to the close proximity of the sea. The structure consists of a concrete frame on piled foundations, with an external envelope of aluminium curtain walling. Large pre-cast sail features evoke the marine heritage of the Gulf.
